Who is Dr Jun Dong

Dr Jun Dong,  Chiropractor,  Licensed Massage Therapy,  Diplomate in Acupuncture (NCCAOM)

Dr. Dong brings nearly three decades of hands-on experience in manual therapy to his practice. Born into a family deeply rooted in Chinese medicine with both his grandfather and mother being traditional Chinese medicine doctors. Dr. Dong was imbued with a profound appreciation for traditional healing arts from a young age. Particularly, his mother’s specialization in sports medicine manual therapy significantly influenced his therapeutic approach.

Dr. Dong’s formal training commenced at the China Academy of Chinese Medicine where he learned the arts of acupuncture and Tuina (a traditional Chinese form of massage)1991. He further honed his skills by earning a Diplomate in acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) 1994. His quest for knowledge led him to the Swedish Institute, where he was trained in Massage Therapy 1995, following which he pursued chiropractic studies at Palmer Chiropractic College West 2001. Upon completion, Dr. Dong became a Licensed Chiropractor and Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of New York.

His credentials extend to being a certified member of the American Massage Therapy Association1997, National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork1999,  Electrodiagnostics Certification New York Chiropractic College 2004, and an member of the American Academy of Spine Physicians 2010. Dr. Dong further expanded his expertise through extensive training in comprehensive spine care 2017, 40th Annual Howard Rosen Memorial Tri-State trauma Symposium 2017, at NYU Langone Health Health. Additionally, he honed his skills in sports injury management through a specialized sports medicine program at Harvard University Medical School 2017.

With a wealth of training and diverse therapeutic backgrounds, Dr. Dong has developed a unique style of manual therapy. His methodology entails the application of gentle pressure along acupuncture points, coupled with techniques to break down muscle adhesions. This integrative approach aims to enhance musculoskeletal function and provide relief from pain, embodying a harmonious blend of traditional and modern therapeutic modalities.
